Since everyone is posting their fave lists of 2006 Studiomuscle cannot get behind. I’ve even created a little podcast show of 30 minutes which samples my best of 2006. feel free to add to this in the comments

Three important notes on the list:
1. It doesn’t hold place for my favorite books and movies. I wished to include some Curb Your Enthusiasm (my favorite TV Show of the year) soundtrack tunes but since i bought them on iTunes I couldn’t get beyond Apple’s DRM security.
2. Most stuff was not released in 2006. These are just the things I listened to the most in 2006.

1. The Melvins (Pearl Bomb)
2. Wooden Wand And The Vanishing Voice (Don’t Love the Liar)
3. Espers (tomorrow) The Weed Tree and Espers II were two beautiful albums but I allways fall asleep during Espers shows
4. Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention (Flower Punk). After 33 years I finally got into Frank Zappa. Never too late I guess. Flower Punk is still as relevant today as it was 30 years ago
5. Johnny Cash (Hey Porter) From his Sun Singles collection, playing non-stop on luid volume on my ipod
6. The Microphones (mount erie). I guess I discovered them way too late but look and see if I care
7. Ignatz (rebound from the cliff) Blew everyone away on the kraak3 festival. Best show of 2006 and probably Ignatz II one of the best albums of 2007!
8. Jerry Seinfeld: Long life Seinfeld DVD Box Reissues. Made me smile a lot in 2006.
9. Oneida (spirits)
10. Islaja (Laivat saapuu) Best Group sex of 2006!
11. Narcisse Castello (castagno (1963)) The Alan Lomax documentary on VPRO was really good. I always dream away on the train to old Sicilian or Corsican recordings like these

13. Pierro Piccioni (Psychedelic Mood)

15. Dead C (Truth)
16. David Hasselhoff (PinguDance) My favourite videoclips this year all came from david Hasselhoff

18. Odetta (Water Boy) Discovered and fell in love with when watching No Direction Home
19. Avarus (mars on paljastanut salaisuutensa)
20. Agitated Radio Pilot (fireplace road)
21. Woman and Children (Wave and a smile)
22. Dinosaur Jr. (SludgeFeast) Golden Oldie!
